"Turn-cape" is a story about two damaged men-- one a career criminal who decides to turn his life around following a near-death experience, and the other is the murderous vigilante who nearly killed him. Is this the beginning of a potential friendship or friendly rivalry between two psychopaths? A story of redemption for one and the downfall of another? Or just a meaningless superhero tale that demonstrates how similar the hero and villains really are?
"Breeder" is the story about a damaged woman who becomes apprehensive when she is chosen to become a mother to an alien being. I think this story kind of relates to the fears of someone, male or female, who recognizes their own irreconcilable issues of their past and sees the potential of harming someone they love, especially their own child, because of the anger, anxiety, depression, etc. they still carry. It's a very human story, even though it involves aliens too, offering a character who is very flawed and broken by her relationships with others, but who recognizes something great in the birth of a child.
